What Is Meditation And How Can It Benefit You?

WHAT IS MEDITATION?

 

Meditation is a habitual process of training your mind to focus and redirect your thoughts. It’s a great way of increasing your awareness of yourself and your surroundings!

 

The cool thing about meditation is you can do it anywhere and it’s free.

 

BENEFITS:

  • Reduce stress
  • Control anxiety
  • Promote emotional health
  • Enhance self-awareness
  • Lengthens attention span
  • Can generate kindness
  • Improve sleep
  • Decrease blood pressure

TIPS:

  • Sit/lay comfortably in a quiet space
  • If you are in the appropriate atmosphere, close your eyes to prevent distractions
  • Focus your attention on the breath and on how the body moves with each inhalation and exhalation
  • Start by maintaining this meditation practice for 2-3 minutes, and then try it for longer periods of time

3 components of carbs: fiber, starch, and sugar⁣⁣⁠⠀
Fiber & starch = complex carbs⁣⁣⁠⠀
Sugar = simple carb⁣⁣⁠⠀
