6 Things You NEED in Your Cooler This Fourth July

With the Fourth of July and Summer upon us, we wanted to share with you six must-haves for your Fourth of July cooler. Check out the list of things we came up with that we include in our coolers and thought you should as well:

1) Red White and Blue Smoothies

Nothing says America like these festive and healthy smoothies. Get your Fourth of July celebrations started on the right foot with this recipe for four. All you need is some fresh fruit and a little Independence Day Spirit!

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups lemonade
  • 1 1/2 cups frozen strawberries and or raspberries
  • 1 cup light coconut milk
  • 1 1/2 cups ice
  • agave nectar, to taste
  • blueberries

See the full recipe by clicking here.

2) Energizing Watermelon Juice with Fresh Mint

We fell in love with just the look of this tasty drink. The second we read what was inside, we couldn’t resist adding this to our must-have list. To create this delicious mocktail, all you need is some watermelon, water, and fresh mint leaves. Check out the super easy recipe below:

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb. Watermelon chunks,
  • 1/2 cup water,
  • 3-4 fresh mint leaves, sliced

Extract the seeds of the watermelon. Blend the watermelon with ice using a hand blender. Add the fresh mint leaves. Serve cold. Garnish with sliced watermelon, if desired.

3) Berry Sangria

This tasty concoction will not only quench your thirst but will also get your buzz on this Independence Day! With summer being berry season, there is no better time to enjoy this fruity drink. For this mixed-drink, you will need:

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup dark honey, like wildflower or buckwheat
  • 1/2 cup cherry brandy
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup raspberries
  • 1 cup blackberries
  • 1 (750-ml) bottle Pinot Noir wine
  • Club soda, chilled (optional)
  • Dark Honey
  • Cherry Brandy
  • Blueberries
  • Raspberries
  • Blackberries
  • Club Soda
  • Pinot Nior wine

See the full recipe by clicking here.

4) Carbs

If you’re planning on doing any drinking this Fourth of July, you should definitely pack some alcohol-absorbing carbs into your cooler. If you have a diet to maintain, try this healthy carb option: whole wheat crackers with dip!

Ingredients:

  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 6 cloves garlic
  • 115 ounce can Great Northern or cannellini beans (white kidney beans), rinsed and drained
  • 1 – 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon snipped fresh rosemary
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper

See the full recipe by clicking here.

5) Beer

In all honesty, you can’t celebrate the fourth of July without beer. It is a common misconception that all beer is high in calories. While most are, there are a few that aren’t so bad including some popular favorites such as, Budweiser Select, Miller Light, Michelob Ultra, and Miller 64.

Not a beer fan? Try an alcoholic seltzer drink, such as White Claw or Truly which are both gluten free, low carb, and come in a plethora of flavors.

6) Water

This should be a no-brainer. If you’re planning on spending your Independence Day out in the sun, you will need to stay hydrated. In between your mixed drinks and sodas, make sure to chug some water. Your body needs at least 8 cups of water (64 ounces) a day but the more you consume, the better.

The team at SuperFit Foods hope you have a fun (and hydrated) Fourth of July!

What's the difference between SIMPLE and COMPLEX c What's the difference between SIMPLE and COMPLEX carbs? 🤔⁣⁣⠀
⁣⁣⠀
Carbs are a major macronutrient and one of your body’s primary sources of energy. Some diets discourage eating them, but the key is finding the right carbs instead of avoiding them completely!⁣⁣⠀
